You could have dreamed anything at all, anything you could have imagined. Why did you dream about your everyday life?
What seems like a slice-of-life dream might hold a deeper meaning.
Dreams can feature crazy scenes or other ones that are fairly humdrum. Why can you have a crazy one that doesn’t seem to make much sense one night and then the next night have one that features a more common scene out of your day-to-day life?
Psychology doesn’t say much about it. They say that people sometimes think about their day when they sleep.
That doesn’t always seem to be the case. Sometimes there is more to these dreams than meets the eye. All you need to do is look into the dream more deeply.
Skeptical?
Skeptical about the utility of doing this? You shouldn’t be. Remember, you could have dreamed anything. Why didn’t you?
Scenes from the day can stand in as symbols with greater significance to people. Ask yourself how you feel about them.
Did you go to Starbucks and order a coffee drink during the day?
Did you do the same time at night in your dreams?
Well, why? How do you feel about Starbucks? How do you feel about their coffee drinks?
Did you spend all day in meetings feeling desperately bored, wishing they were over?
If you did, why would your subconscious put you back into the same scene during the night?
That it would doesn’t make any sense. Why wouldn’t your subconscious pick a more fantastic scene?
What do the humdrum objects and scenes from your day mean to you in a dream? The only way to find out is to ask yourself. It might be a dream without a deeper meaning, it might not.
